Greetings Church Family,
Wowzers! Can you believe that the last message I posted was February 13? How did I manage to reschedule this “Message From Marian” eight times???? Oh, I know…we have had a whirlwind of activity here at Red Willow over the last two months. March 16-17 we hosted the Conference sponsored Global Youth Day that brought 666 individuals out to worship, share a meal and then participate in various community outreach programs. From March 26-28, the many and varied faces of RWCC were photographed in preparation of our Pictorial Directory. But the absolute highlight of these last two months was the weekend of March 30. Friday evening we hosted our very first Christian Seder, a Christian adaptation of Passover. Sabbath morning worship showed us how to Love Like Jesus and was followed by great food and fellowship thanks to Dini Bos and her team. Although the dessert for the luncheon was wonderful, the true icing on the cake was the Worship in Song that followed as we raised our voices in praise and proclaimed the Risen Lord.
I truly hope that you are able to attend service this Sabbath as Pastor Dan continues his series on Love Like Jesus. Our Youth Team will lead in worship and we will have the sweet voices of Coralwood Academy’s Kindergarten to Grade 2 Choir bring us a special music. Plan to stay for food and fellowship afterward compliments of Kristy Maier’s team.
The Hymningbirds, a group committed to serving Edmonton’s homeless and impoverished, are conducting the Ultimate Action Pack Fundraiser. Percentage of sales will go directly to their ministry. The Prayer and Encouragement ministries at RWCC are two very important aspects of Pastoral Care. If you are in need of prayer or would like to be added to the prayer chain, please email Donna Kutzner (wildon@albertacom.com). There are a couple of events on the horizon that I would like to bring to your attention.
KIDS Church and Jr. FREAC will be at Chuck E. Cheese from 6-8pm at 14245-137 Avenue on Friday, April 13. If you haven’t done so, please sign up your child with Pastor Michelle by April 12 at michelle.sevcik31@gmail.com. The $5.00 cost will include 20 tokens, 2 slices of pizza and drinks. If your child would like extra tokens, please send them with cash.
COME2LIFE and the Sexual Assault Centre for Edmonton (SACE) will be offering training on how to provide healthy responses to disclosures of sexual assault on Wednesday, April 25 from 9:30am-12:30pm here at Red Willow.
