Sometimes our lives are so busy, we’re not always aware of the various programs and activities that our church provides. Because of that, we’d like to start highlighting a specific area of ministry in our church each week. For the first ministry highlight of the year, we are going to focus in on Journey to Healthy Eating.
Health is such an important topic, not only for the church, but in our society at large. Almost everyday we hear staggering statistics about the obesity problem in North America. With jobs that keep us chained to desks more and more, what is a person to do?
For over a year now, Yvonne Smith has been partnering with Red Willow Community Church to share the health message through Journey to Healthy Eating. There have been classes, cooking demonstrations, and much more.
Since January is a time of new beginnings and many of us tend to make health related resolutions, Yvonne has decided to offer a Journey to Healthy Eating 3-Week Challenge that consists of support meetings, meal plans, discussions, and presentations.
You can begin by choosing your meeting time, either Thursday evenings from 7:00pm – 9:00pm starting January 25 OR Sunday afternoons from 1:00pm – 3:00pm starting January 28. Then, you choose your 3-week challenge (one meal a day or three meals a day). Meal plans will be provided with your registration. The focus during each meeting will be on discussions and health promoting presentations as participants share their challenges and successes.
The great thing is. . . this program is FREE! However, if you feel impressed to provide a donation then it would be appreciated.
